My mother, Helen Slater Zager, died on March 10. She was 92, and led a very full life. In the weeks since then, I've thought a lot about how much she has influenced my life, as well as that of many others.

Did you know that Santa Rosa has a juggling club? Not only that, but there's an annual festival where you can go see some amazing juggling, and maybe even learn some yourself.
The annual Comedy Magic Show produced each year by Ken Garr is coming up May 5.
It's time once again for Ken Garr's annual Magic and Comedy show in Santa Rosa. The show is an annual tradition and always great fun. Ken is a wonderful comic and magician, and the performers include many of the people who have gathered and trained for years at the Mostly Magic Shop. This year, once again, the performers include my son, Gregory Slater, performing a rarely-seen mask-changing act.
Last night my son Gregory was in Ken Garr’s annual magic show in Santa Rosa. He’s been hanging out with this community for many years, and it was great to see him on stage—and with a spectacular performance!
It’s not often you can see great comedy and magic in Santa Rosa. But once a year, Ken Garr, proprietor of the Mostly Magic Shop in downtown Santa Rosa, puts on a show that features his friends, colleagues, and students. My family has gone every year for many years, and we’ve always enjoyed it.
